Aires de Tenerife – Sep 28 to Oct 5

TENAIR  2010 is a project to monitor and improve the air quality in Tenerife. Los Cristianos cultural centre presents an exhibition about the work of Granadilla based ITER, they have 32 fixed monitoring stations around the Canary Islands.

A mobile monitoring unit is parked outside, and there are facts and figures which will alarm you about the main contamination sources around the islands and further afield.

Garoe – El Arbol de Agua

 

Six actors and some imaginative props help to create the legend of the Water Tree from El Hiero. There are 2 performances, outdoors in Los Cristianos plaza on SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER at 8pm, and in Adeje Cultural Centre on SATURDAY 31 OCTOBER at 8.30pm. Part of the Tenerife Theatre and Dance Tour.

Spheres, an audiovisual treat

 

Music, light and science come together in a cutting edge 50 minute display at the Museum of Science and the Cosmos in La Laguna at Noon on Sunday 27 September. Tailor made for this interactive museum, it’s a one off event not to be missed by fans of art, science and music. A tram from Santa Cruz will drop you right outside the museum.

Tenerife Ladies Open Golf – Sep 24-27

The beautiful Golf Costa Adeje course, 120 top professional ladies golf players from 25 countries, and 300,000 euros of prize money at the Tenerife Ladies Golf Open – and it’s all FREE to watch.
From 8.30am to 7.30 pm each day you can see players like Englands Laura Davies, and 2008 winner Rebecca Hudson battle for the big prize. There are 4 Canarians competing, 34 English, 7 Scottish, 6 Welsh and 6 Irish, so come and follow your favourite.

Poetica del Cosmos in La Laguna

Poetry and science fuse together at Museo de la Science y El Cosmos from September 4 to 27. Combining the poems of Ferdinand de Bretillard and paintings of Arminda del Castillo for a new insight on the Cosmos.
The museum, a short walk from La Laguna centre, has its own tram stop, open every day (9 to 7) except Mondays, entry is 3 euros, pay by Bono bus ticket and get a 50% discount.

Tenerife Opera Festival

The stage moves to Teatro Leal, La Laguna for double shows on October 20, 22 and 24. Mozart’s Der Schauspleldirektor and Haydn’s La Canterina are the attractions. The box office is open 10am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm, and up until 30 minutes before each performance. You can also order by phone, same hours, on 922255141.
