Feria Natura Salud, Health And Wellness Fair

This is the place to be for anyone interested in health and well being, some 63 exhibitors will cover all areas including diet, excercise and treatments. At the last 2 yearly fair over 8,000 people passed through this large exhibition hall. As well as the exhibitors there will be displays of techniques and samples of healthy food and drink for individuals and those in the health industry.

Entrance is just 3 euros daily, open from 11 am to 9 pm with good parking nearby and easy access from Avenida de la Constitucion.

Vuelta Ciclista, Tour Of Tenerife Cycle Race

There can’t be many harder places to cycle with speed and precision than Tenerife, up and down those tight mountain roads, through towns and villages and skirting the coast. The annual Vuelta Ciclista takes in most areas of the island and provides a great spectacle at each of the stages, one of the most high profile sees them hurtle down from the edge of Teide national park to the tourist  heart of Arona.

This year it takes on extra significance as plans are well advanced for two stages of the Tour de España to visit Tenerife in 2012 and 2013. As soon as we have the exact route and stage guide we will post the breakdown on this site.

Continental Cup Beach Volleyball,Costa Adeje To London 2012

Tenerife will play its part towards the London 2012 Olympics with this qualifying tournament on Fañabe beach from 30 September to 2 October. Pairs teams from hopefull countries will compete in the means and womens competition hoping to book a place at Horse Guards Parade in the heart of London.

Spain will be a popular contender in Costa Adeje with Pablo Herrera and Adrian Gavira hoping to impress for the men and the rising Spain womens team hoping to spring a surprise against opponents from Germany, Italy, Norway, Czech Republic and Slovakia. It’s a straight knock out over three legs so little room for error and much scope for top action. The games are free to watch and the setting should bring out the best in the sports stars.

Tenerife Lan Party 2K11, 19 to 24 July

The annual festival of new technology returns to Santa Cruz at the Recinto Ferial. There will be seperate areas for video games, 3D zone, Manga Salon and an innovation area. Talks and discussions will be held throughout the festival featuring technology experts. The Recinto Ferial is just off the TF 1 motorway from the south in Avenida de la Constitucion on the edge of Santa Cruz. Open daily 11 am to 9 pm.

Arona Summer Festival, 12 August

One of the biggest musical nights of the year will take place at the Antonio Dominguez football stadium in Playa de Las Americas. A top international bill of dance artists has been lined up with music running from 5 pm for around 12 hours into the early hours of the next morning.

5 pm – Jessy La Ley – DJ well known in clubs around Tenerife, especially Santa Cruz.

6 pm – Navy Blue Socks – Indie dance band from Puerto de la Cruz.

7 pm – Brixtol Tapes – Spanish Indie rock band.

8 pm – Bikini Invaders – Tenerife rock band.

9 pm – The Zombie Kids – Madrid band.

10.20 pm – Rinocerose – French rock duo.

12.30 am – David Guetta – French house music producer.

2.45 am – Roger Sanchez – New York house music DJ with wide musical influences.

Master Cup PKRA Kiteboarding

El Medano is the place to be for water based sports action, this time it’s the combined Master Cup PKRA and Spanish Championship for kiteboarding. From 8 th to 14 th August some 150 sports stars from around the world will compete in two different disciplines freestyle and race including the best 20.

The event was officially launched at Hotel Arenas del Mar in El Medano by Cristo Perez (Cabildo councillor for sport) Jaime Gonzalez Cejas (mayor of Granadilla de Abona) and Manuel Fernandez of tournament organisers Easy Events Solutions. The competition will provide a free specatacle along the coast of El Medano.

Charcoal Tradition And Vilaflor Food Festival

Now in its 7th year, this years festival running from 11 to 24 July is dedicated to the papa blanca white potato and the tasty ways it can be used in cooking. Local restaurants will feature dishes that make good use of this special potato and other local produce. The big presentation takes place on Sunday 17 July when all the dishes are prepared and judged at the Municipal Saguero from noon.
