Cabildo Nativity, Santa Cruz, Dec 1 to Jan 6

When you are shopping in Santa Cruz, remind yourself of the true meaning of Christmas by popping into the Cabildo (Tenerife government) building near the Plaza de España. Here you will see the wonderous and expansive nativity scene, including the manger, the shepherds, and animals, all picked out with spectacular lighting.
The nativity is FREE, but we would ask that you give a donation for local charities. Open 9am to 3pm and 4pm to 9pm.

Kids christmas PIT treat, Dec 23 to Jan 10

Put your feet up and let the kids play in a safe, toy filled wonderland. Parque Infantil y Juvenil de Tenerife offers fun and games daily over the festive season at the Santa Cruz Recinto Ferial, all for just 6.50 euros per day.
This annual event has spared the sanity of many parents, and given the young ones a great christmas. The official opening is at 10am on 23 December, then it is open from 10am to 8pm daily apart from, Christmas and New Years days when it opens 3pm to 8pm. There are also shorter hours on 24 December and 5 January – 10am to 3pm, and closed all day on Reyes-6 December.

Thomas Ruff – Tenerife Landscapes

Part of the Fotonoviembre season. German photo artist Thomas Ruff turns his attention to some of the unique landscapes around Tenerife. Sala C at TEA – Tenerife Espacio de Las Artes, Santa Cruz is the setting for this exhibition from 5 November to 10 January 2010.
Open daily (except Mondays) from 10 am to 8 pm.
